1. Who operates Yappigo

Yappigo is a pet care application operated by Together North Inc. In this Privacy Policy, “Yappigo,” “we,” “us” and “our” refer to Together North Inc. when it operates the Yappigo application, website and related services. Together North Inc. is responsible for the personal information under its control and acts as the data controller where the General Data Protection Regulation applies.

2. Scope

This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain and protect personal information when you visit the Yappigo website, join the waitlist, create or manage an account, use the application, share pet care with other people, contact support or use future marketplace services.

3. Information we collect

• Waitlist information: your email address and any optional name or pet type you provide.
• Account information: your email address, authentication credentials and profile details.
• Pet and care information: pet profiles, health and care records, medications, vaccinations, veterinary visits, routines, reminders, emergency information and documents you choose to upload.
• Photos, videos and posts: media and updates you add to a pet profile or private circle.
• Shared care information: invitations, roles, permissions, task activity and information shared with family members, co-parents, caregivers or sitters you choose.
• Technical information: device type, app version, operating system, IP address, security logs, usage analytics and crash reports.
• Optional location information: location data collected only when a feature requires it and you grant permission.
• Payment information: transaction details needed for optional ad removal or future marketplace services. Payment processors handle full card details. Yappigo does not store complete payment card numbers.
• Support information: messages, bug reports, feature requests and privacy requests you send us.
• Language preference and cookies: the language you select and cookies or similar storage required to remember that choice, secure forms and operate the website.

4. How we use information

• Provide, secure and maintain Yappigo.
• Create and authenticate accounts.
• Store and organize pet health and care information.
• Enable private family circles, shared tasks and caregiver access.
• Process optional payments and future marketplace transactions.
• Send service messages, requested waitlist updates and push notifications.
• Respond to support, privacy and account requests.
• Detect fraud, abuse, security incidents and technical problems.
• Measure performance and improve accessibility and usability.
• Meet legal, accounting and regulatory obligations.

5. Legal bases under GDPR

Where GDPR applies, we process personal data when it is necessary to perform our agreement with you, when you have provided consent, when processing is necessary to meet a legal obligation, or when we have a legitimate interest that is not overridden by your rights. Legitimate interests may include service security, fraud prevention, support, product improvement and maintaining reliable systems. You may withdraw consent at any time, although withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

6. How information is shared

We do not sell personal information or user content. We may share only the information needed with service providers that help operate Yappigo, including Supabase for database, authentication and storage services, Stripe or an app store payment provider for payments, Sentry for crash reporting, and Expo for push notifications. Providers may change as the service develops. We require service providers to use information only for authorized purposes and to protect it appropriately.

Information is shared with family members, co-parents, caregivers or sitters only when you invite them or enable sharing. We may also disclose information when required by applicable law, a valid court order or another lawful process, or when reasonably necessary to protect users, animals, Yappigo or the public.

7. International processing

We store information in Canada whenever reasonably possible. Some providers may process information in the United States or other countries. Information processed outside your province or country may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction. Where required, we use contractual or other safeguards for international transfers.

8. Retention

• Waitlist information is retained until you unsubscribe, ask us to delete it, or it is no longer needed for launch communication.
• Account, pet profile, media and shared care information is generally retained until account deletion.
• Analytics, crash and routine technical logs are generally retained for up to 90 days unless a longer period is required for security investigation.
• Payment and transaction records may be retained for up to seven years when required for tax, accounting or legal compliance.
• Some limited records may be retained after account deletion when required by law, to prevent fraud, resolve disputes or establish legal claims.

9. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete personal information, withdraw consent, object to or restrict certain processing, and complain to a privacy regulator. You can change optional location and notification permissions through your device. Account deletion will be available directly inside the app and through the My Account portal when that portal launches.

To make a privacy request, email the Privacy Officer at support@yappigo.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Canadian residents may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or an applicable provincial privacy regulator. People in the European Economic Area may contact their local data protection authority.

10. Cookies and language preference

Yappigo uses necessary cookies or similar browser storage to remember your English or French preference, maintain security and support website forms. Optional analytics or advertising cookies will not be activated for visitors who require consent unless consent has been obtained. You can change your language preference using the website language selector.

11. Security

We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encryption in transit, encryption at rest where supported, password hashing, role based access controls, restricted internal access, backups, monitoring and security review. No system can guarantee absolute security. We will respond to breaches and provide legally required notices.

12. Children

Yappigo is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information should contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.

13. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as Yappigo develops or legal requirements change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice inside the app or website when a change is significant.
